Brake Fluid comes in two different types, DOT 5.1 and Mineral oil. Make sure you get the correct type of brake fluid or you will rot all the seals in your brake system. Not good. Give us a call if your not sure, as a rule shimano uses Mineral Oil and Hope and Avid use DOT 5.1 but it will always say on the master cylinder.

When changing the oil in your brake system, or just bleeding some air out it is always worth using a proper bleed kit. This will speed up the process and have better results. Proper bleed kits will also stop you damaging any vital parts.
