February 2018 Round Up
Here's a look at what's happening in February in our Summerbridge home...
After what seems like an eternity of waiting, the Focus Sam² has finally arrived and we're all pretty excited, even the most ardent e-bike naysayers (Rob.H) have admitted to strange feelings of e-curiosity. We've been fans of the Shimano E-Steps motor and the Focus TEC battery system for a long time and love the way they're integrated into this bike, in the flesh it's an absolute beauty. Check our Instagram profile for a quick overview with Jim on Stif TV or better yet, pop into our shop and see for yourself... the kettles on.
Stif Morf Build
Stif Staffer Al is somewhat notorious for building bikes because he found a spare pedal washer or spoke nipple lying around and had to do something with it, so when we gave him a Morf frame and let him loose in the warehouse he came up with something pretty special. Dripping in top-end components, featuring Hope Enduro Wheels, a Joystick cockpit, Bos Suspension Forks, Shimano XTR Groupset and Brakes and WTB Rubber, it's a serious bit of kit and it's begging for someone to tear their local trails a new one with it. We're still getting around to putting on the website with the fanfare it deserves, so, for now, you'll have to pay us a visit if you want to check it out for yourself.
Fresh Fox Clothing
We're always excited when a fresh mountain of boxes arrive from Fox HQ, and this latest drop of SS18 ride wear and casual wear doesn't disappoint. The fresh 'Pine' green colourway across the ride wear range looks great, the ever-popular Flux helmet has been re-designed for 2018 and continues to set the standard for open-face trail helmets. The award-winning Pro-frame is back too, seen above in the pine colour. As always, the new range of Tech Tees is well worth a look - perfect on the bike or in the pub. Head over to the fox brand page to see whats new.
New Squad Colourways from Smith
Surely by now we don't need to tell you how good the Smith Squad Goggles are, or how well the Chromapop lenses improve vision out on the trails. They've gotten rave reviews and best-in-tests for a long time and we're definitely a little guilty of banging on about how much we love them. There's not much Smith could have done to improve them for 2018, but they've dropped 2 new colourways, Matte Gravy and the great value, single-lens Deep Forest, and we love 'em, whether its dusty laps in the Alps or filthy uplift days in the Welsh Winter the squad goggles are always in our kit bag. With the Deep Forest sneaking onto the scene at £64.99, it's a great time to grab yourself a set!
KS Spares Now Online
For all of you with KS Dropper posts, we've finally got around to getting the most popular spare parts on our website, so if you find yourself in need of a lever-actuator-pivot-pin or a cable-collar-set-screw, have a look in our components section. The official KS website is a treasure trove of useful information if you're in need of a helping hand (https://www.kssuspension.com/support/) or of course, our very own mechanics are always here and can fix (almost) anything!
More Goodness From FiveTen
Burgtec 42.5mm Stems
After dropping the latest incarnation of their direct mount stem last month, the guys at Burgtec are back with a new version of their much-loved MkII Enduro Stem, in 42.5mm. Confused? Well, if 35mm stems are too short for you, and 50mm stems are too long - the quick thinking folks over at Burgtec have split the difference and come up with 42.5mmm - bang in the middle - for the best of both worlds. Our web guy Pete was quick to bolt one of these onto his bike and he loves it.
As well as the Impact Pro Shoes we featured in last months round up and in a recent episode of Stif TV with Sammy, FiveTen have dropped a few new lines and some freshened up classics. Keep an eye out for new episodes of Stif TV with Jim for the low-down on some of the new lines, hitting our social media channels over the next few weeks.
Santa Cruz Streetwear
We love the Santa Cruz streetwear range, if you pop into our Summerbridge shop on any day of the week, it would be a safe bet that many of us would be representing our favourite Californians. Our shelves have been a little bare since Christmas, but we've finally got our hands on a re-stock and a few fresh bits too, all made to the usual high standard and with the killer looks you can rely on Santa Cruz to provide.
That's all for this month, but with Spring just around the corner, you can be sure there'll be lots to be excited about next month too, we're expecting fresh threads from Dakine and Mons Royale, and plenty more!
See you on the trials!
