Fox Metah Helmet
The latest Fox Helmet has just been delivered and is now available instore and online. It’s been 10 years since the extremely popular Flux helmet was first launched and Fox recognised we now need something with more protection for modern trail riding.
The Metah is a brand new helmet aimed at all types of riding that do not require full face protection. The design is modern and has more coverage/protection but still keeps ventilation high which is achieved via massive air vents at the back which are fed via the large vents that run across the top and under the peak. The peak is integrated which also helps airflow but is replaceable just in case of crash damage.
Fox have fitted a new rear ratchet system to the Metah (now also found on this year’s Flux helmets) which uses a round dial making it quick and easy to secure the fit, especially on the go. This is a big improvement on their old “pull together” system found on their previous lids.
Fox have also created two mounting options for the Metah’s retention system, which allows for a very fine fit adjustment. It doesn’t look like much but before adjusting the position of the retention system, one of our staff members thought he was in-between sizes. After adjustment, the fit was perfect. You can further dial in the fit with the Slim Fit pads.
Fox uses its new Varizorb technology in the construction of the Metah. This is essentially a multiple density cone shaped foam construction which on impact, helps disperse impact forces.
